The Wellness Empowerment Center (WE Center) will host its inaugural W.E Welcome You event to celebrate the official launch of WE Center. The high impact, activity-filled event will provide Georgia Tech students with the opportunity to engage with the Wellness Empowerment Center staff and learn more about the programs, services, and resources offered to promote their success in and out of the classroom.
The W.E Welcome You event takes place on Wednesday, October 12th from 11 am to 2 pm on the lawn in front of Stamps Health Services and the Campus Recreation Center off Ferst Drive There will be free giveaways, games, snacks, selfies with Buzz, succulent planting, and more for students to engage with WE Center.
The event will provide an immersive and interactive experience for students to learn more about the different pillars of the department, which includes Community Nutrition and Body Image, Health Education, and VOICE. In addition, the event will highlight the 8 dimensions of wellness: environmental, emotional, financial, intellectual, occupational, physical, social and spiritual. Students will participate in a tailored passport designed expedition to experience all the various dimensions of wellness.
“We are overjoyed to embark on this all-encompassing adventure with students to share with them the importance of a holistic approach to wellness,” said Joi Alexander, Director of the Wellness Empowerment Center. “The event will allow us to educate, empower, and connect students to our programs and services by utilizing a prevention lens to develop proactive skills that will support their academic success and personal development.”
Formally known as Health Initiatives, the new Wellness Empowerment (W.E.) Center is excited to provide upstream, innovative, and relevant programs and services to help students thrive. The W.E Welcome You event will provide students with an opportunity to learn more about prioritizing health and wellness in a fun, exciting, and entertaining environment.
