On-campus Fun

Georgia Tech employees may also find lifestyle balance during the day, at nights, and on weekends – all at the Student Center.

Tech Rec

Employees who like to bowl, play billiards, enjoy ping-pong, and have gaming skills should check out Tech Rec, especially on Mondays when all games are free. Free Play Mondays run between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m., so take an early or late lunch and enjoy all Tech Rec has to offer. Be sure to bring your BuzzCard.

Under the Couch

If music is more your scene, go to Under the Couch. Reserve the space for your own music or drop by to enjoy other people’s musical interludes. Under the Couch is open daily 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Paper & Clay

Got an artistic streak? Make art and meet people at Paper & Clay, Georgia Tech's on-campus creative studio.

Each semester a variety of classes are offered, including introductory and intermediate pottery, painting, knitting and sewing classes. Classes are open to the public and all fees are discounted for the Georgia Tech community (students, faculty, and staff, alumni). Classes are announced as scheduled on the Paper & Clay website.

Reserving Space for Your Event

All three spaces – Tech Rec, Under the Couch and Paper & Clay – may be rented for departmental gatherings, staff trainings, and stress relief programs.

If you are looking to make your departmental event even more exciting, consider including a display of balloons to add an element of spirit to your gathering. Balloon services are provided by the team at the Information Desk on the 2nd floor of the Student Center; find more information at https://studentcenter.gatech.edu/balloons.

Need more space for your event? The Event Services & Operations team can help. Meeting and event spaces in the Student Center, West Village, and the Historic Academy of Medicine are available to reserve for a variety of events and offer audio visual equipment and configurable room setups to support your event needs. Plus, the Georgia Tech staff’s high standard of customer service helps ensure your event runs smoothly.
