Dear Colleague,

I hope you are having a productive and enjoyable summer.

As you may know, the Student Health Insurance Plan is changing from Pearce and Pearce to Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Georgia's (BCBSGA) Student Blue for the upcoming academic year. This means you can no longer use Pearce & Pearce Insurance! The new plan is lower cost and has additional benefits such as vision and dental. Additional details are available at http://studentbluega.com/gatech/index.html and an outline of the differences between the previous mandatory graduate student plan can be accessed at Insurance Comparison, improvements are highlighted in blue.

The student health fee covers most basic costs of care at Stamps Health Center, but insurance provides coverage for emergency care and specialists.

Open enrollment from the BCBSGA plan is now going on through September 5. Please note, paying the insurance fee on your Bursar account does not immediately enroll you in the BCBSGA insurance plan. To enroll in the Student Blue plan, you must visit https://dev-studentblue.com/gatech/. Also, for those whom wish to waive out of the mandatory graduate student plan can do so at https://dev-studentblue.com/gatech/
