Updated June 21 --
Georgia Institute of Technology is expecting…
In an ongoing effort to meet the increasing childcare needs of our Georgia Tech community, in the fall of 2012 we will open The Children’s Campus @ Georgia Tech, a new on-site early care and education center for Georgia Tech faculty, staff and students. A Parent Information Session will be held on Wednesday June 27 at the Student Center Ballroom from 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm. Enrollment Interest Forms will be accepted from interested faculty, staff, and students with a GTID number. GT families currently on the wait list at the R. Kirk Landon Learning Center will be given first priority for enrollment based on their position on the waitlist. Applications received will be awarded spaces in the Center on a first-come, first-enrolled basis.
This new state-of-the art Center, managed by Bright Horizons Family Solutions (also the management company for R. Kirk Landon Learning Center) will be located at 251 10th Street, Building F, in the Tenth & Home family housing complex. The Center capacity will be 101 children from 6 weeks of age to 5 years. For additional information about the curriculum, tuition, and the enrollment process interested parties should visit the R. Kirk Landon Learning Center website at www.brighthorizons.com/techhomepark.
Faculty, staff and students are not required to attend the information session to complete an Enrollment Interest Form. Forms can be downloaded from the Bright Horizons website at http://child-care-preschool.brighthorizons.com/~/media/BH/Centers/0705/Documents/Pre-EnrollmentRegistrationFormforTCC2.ashx and returned to the R. Kirk Landon Learning Center, 1015 Tumlin Street, Atlanta GA 30318. Once the forms are received, they will be dated and time stamped.
We look forward to meeting with you and sharing information about this exciting new venture.

At the moment, Georgia Tech’s new child care center is in the process of hiring a staff and finishing construction. What is certain though, is that the new center will step up as another opportunity to provide young Yellow Jackets with a head start in both their academic career and life in general.
The new center will be located at 10th and Home, directly behind the Graduate Living Center.
“We currently have one child care center, which has been full for years, and it has a lengthy wait list,” said Rich Steele, senior director, Auxiliary Services.
The R. Kirk Landon Learning Center has served as Georgia Tech’s primary child care center for the past nine years. It is hoped that the new center will help satisfy the demand for these services.
The new center will meet many of the same criteria as the R. Kirk Landon Center, including obtaining accreditation from the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAECY).
Parents of prospective young Jackets can expect the new center to be open from 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Rates will be the same at both Centers and will be comparable to other child development centers in the Midtown Atlanta area.
Watch for more announcements in the next few weeks on www.ImportantStuff.gatech.edu as more information and the enrollment process is developed.
