While the latter doesn’t sound the least bit appealing—and let’s be honest and admit that it’s not—there is at least one good thing summer Techies can look forward to doing.

That’s right! This summer the Student Center will be hosting the 7^th annual Flicks on 5^th! This is an opportunity for students to kick back and watch a good film while enjoying the refreshing cool night air.

As the name implies, the movies will be screened outside in Technology Square. This summer, Flicks on 5^th will present a movie every Wednesday night during the month of June. In case of rain, an alternative movie showing will be scheduled for July 11.

For this year, each movie night will be themed in accordance with the film being shown. This summer’s movie line up will include:

            5^th Street Rush                        Mission Impossible 4             June 6

            Late Night, Date Night:            The Vow                                 June 13

            Dancing on 5^th Street              Footloose                                June 20

            Family Night                           Happy Feet 2                          June 27

Additional Entertainment Each Week

This year with the themed weeks, additional entertainment and delicious movie treats will be provided before each of the screenings geared towards the weekly theme. For example, students may test their climbing skills as they scale a rock climbing wall for 5^th Street Rush. Couples may enjoy a romantic night with a basket full of goodies (red popocorn? Hersey kisses?) during Late Night, Date Night.

Street dancing is planned for Dancing on 5^th Street. Students can show off their  best moves while dancing to live music for Dancing on 5^th Street and, last but not least, plans are for balloon artists, face painting and just plain quality fun time with friends and family during Family Night.
